An introduction to our new Ward Councillor ...

Meet Your New Councillor

I’m Cllr Natalie Oliver and I was thrilled to be successful in the recent county council elections and to be given the opportunity and privilege to represent you, and the area that I love.

I have lived in Lincolnshire for over 20 years, this is my home and I want to assist in cherishing and protecting our amazing county. One of the overriding motives which led me to become involved in politics is my passion for family and community, I wanted to have the ability to help map the future for my children and theirs to come.

I believe that family is at the heart of everything – but I work for the benefit of my wider family – the community that I represent. Please be assured that I will approach this role with the same passion and enthusiasm, as I do my role as a mummy to my two young children and at working to make a success of my business.

You might have seen me during the election campaign. I knocked on hundreds of doors and spoke to many residents about local issues. And just because the election is behind us, I want to be just as approachable and available to the people who I represent, that includes those who took the trouble to vote for me, and those who didn’t.

I have run my own business for five years and so I am well aware of the dedication it takes and the challenges small businesses face. I’ve also held several management roles, including a position within the NHS where I worked in communication and engagement. These experiences in the real world will be invaluable to my council role.

I know that there are some people who are really struggling at the moment. Having spent a lot of time out in the community, I’ve had some tough conversations with residents who are either in difficult circumstances or who have been in the past. That’s why I’m pleased to be in a role where I can help people get the support they need and make our communities stronger. Please do get in touch if there is anything I can help with – from road issues to social care, school transport to children’s centres. Like all of our county councillors, we’re here to serve you.

I’m also extremely fortunate to have been chosen to be on the council’s executive – the group who make the main decisions about the running of the council. I’ll be responsible for culture and children’s services which is currently rated outstanding in Lincolnshire – and I fully intend to work tirelessly to keep it that way.

If you would like to get in touch with me, please email cllrn.oliver@lincolnshire.gov.uk
